Macotronic
New equipment for blood processing

Alongside with MacoPharma, Technord developed two innovative pieces of equipment to attenuate pathogens present in the blood compounds to be used for transfusions.
Macotronic B2
MacoPharma has been commercialising a plasma viral attenuation process, based on a photochemical technique, for years. The plasma, with an added photoreactive compound, is exposed to a light source. The resultant photochemical reaction attenuates the viruses present.
Alongside with MacoPharma, Technord developed the Macotronic B2 which is a new generation equipment. It uses the most recent technologies to ensure the lighting up (cluster electroluminescent diodes), the traceability of blood compounds and to supervise the process. It is more reliable, faster, smaller and consumes less energy.
Macotronic UV
Building on the successful efforts of Technord, MacoPharma entrusted us again with the development of a second piece of equipment to be used for the attenuation of viruses and bacteria in platelet compounds. The result was the Macotronic UV machine which attenuates viruses and bacteria with the help of an orbital agitation system and radiation with UV rays.
Innovation creates employment
The design and development of these two machines had requiered 8,000 hours of work in two years. The development of the industrial prototype took 6 months.
This new product line resulted in the recruitment of two technicians and generated indirect employment at our suppliers facilities.
